August 15th marks the Assumption of the Virgin, one of the oldest and most widespread festivities in Spain. This year, as it falls on a Friday, it gives us a three-day weekend perfect for travelling or rediscovering places close to the capital.

Staying in the city is also a great plan: street parties, live music, chotis dancing, and traditional food fill the La Latina neighbourhood during one of the most authentic celebrations in Madrid.
